This is an exploration of personalised AI-generated content influenced by human parameters. It uses improv theatre methods and retro arcade-like interaction dynamics to generate personalised short-form content influenced by user inputs. Why are arcade dynamics so attractive? And why can we say the same about Netflix and social media feeds? Gamifying and personalising are the most obvious answers. By exploring why these medias are so interesting to us, we hope to start to discover the formats of the future.

3D MODELING
3D MODELING
I learned 3D modeling for the first time. This enabled us to print custom buttons, platforms, and stage elements for the arcade-themed box. I was especially proud of the platforms where Lego squares clicked in perfectly.

ELECTRIC
ELECTRIC
Helena was our mastermind coder while I delved into the realm of Arduino, meticulously crafting connections for buttons, lights, and scales, and also made custom cables. Engaging in soldering for the very first time, I assumed the role of the group's keen-eyed, detail-oriented engineer. And finally was able to talk with my electrician dad and engineer brother on the topic of their work.

BUILDING
Helena made laser plans and cut plywood and plexiglass. Iie was on all things glue and sewing.
I took on the role of Bob the builder and bit of MacGyver.

TESTING
TESTING
All the steps along the way got tested with peers and mentors around us. There was cutting the plexiglass only once so we needed to know beforehand if the buttons made sense and their locations were clear. Once the tangible was in place we refined the prompts of the AI assistant. The journey had to be clear enough, properly guided but not over-explained so that the user could experience this without the intervention of the creators. In the end, the interaction of the Tbox seemed to bring great joy and was extra fun for people who played it with their friends or partners.

EXPO
EXPO
The whole project culminated with an expo held on a Saturday in a busy spot of Telliskivi Loomelinnak. Many people were invited to test out our tangible designs but loads just happened to visit the spot and got the chance to test and play. The day was very interactive and a huge success.

OUTCOME
OUTCOME
The outcome of this little project was an invite to a team who will work on an interactive installation for ARS Electronica Festival 2024’ in Austria. We have already worked out the main idea and will spend most of summer building it. Additionally, TBox was acquired by PoCo Museum’s new AI exhibition and will be available there for all of the public to see, test, and play with. :)
